The purposes of the International Society for Exploring Teaching and Learning are to encourage the study of instruction and principles of learning in order to implement practical, effective methods of teaching and learning; promote the application, development, and evaluation of such methods; and foster the scholarship of teaching and learning among practicing post-secondary educators. ISETL believes that it is important to enjoy one’s vocation and the pursuit of excellent within that vocation of current and future teaching and learning professionals. To encourage graduate student conference attendance, ISETL has established the ISETL Conference Graduate Student Grant (GSG). The purpose of the grant is to partially support the expenses incurred by select graduate students during travel to the annual ISETL conference. As such, the recipient(s) will be awarded $500.
At the time of the application, the applicant must be an enrolled graduate student. Preference is given to applicants presenting at the conference. The ISETL Conference Graduate Student Grant is open to all graduate students and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, or age. Support funds will be dispersed at the conclusion of the conference.

Applications are reviewed by the ISETL Board Member Recruitment and Nominating Committee, with input from the Conference and Membership Committees. If for any reason the applicant is not able to attend the conference after being awarded funding, it is the responsibility of the applicant to inform the ISETL Board Member Recruitment and Nominating Committee Chair.
Applications are due August 31. Award notifications will be sent by September 16.
